About

Being one of the constituent units of UNIZG, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is participating within the project proposal as partner organization. Faculty has more than 700 employees, with more than 500 academic staff as well as more than 600 part-time lecturers.

The University of Zagreb has built a strong profile in the field of IP education on the national level. An indicator of its relevance is the Universities’ interdisciplinary program offered on the postgraduate level that is intended for all professionals whose activity is related to intellectual property. This program is the only one in Croatia that approaches the problem of IP through an interdisciplinary lens which is open both to scientists as well as practitioners from various technical, natural, legal or art fields.

Additionally, the Department of Information and Communication Sciences which coordinates the involvement of the University of Zagreb in the IPEDU project has a long-standing tradition in offering graduate programs for the education of librarians and information professionals, who are a major stakeholder group in introducing education in the field of Intellectual Property. The team involved in IPEDU has experiences in curricula development and has been involved in many continuing education/lifelong learning initiatives of information professionals. The Department is also renowned and has not only a research track but also expertise in developing digital learning tools and teaching materials in different niches of information and communication.
